Ross

One bit of fun we had in Scotland was an outdoor headshot with model Ross. Except that it was pitch black at 10pm in the middle of the West Highlands. Here we are in the picnic area of The Clachaig Inn, with a mountain for a background. Of course I've only one speedlight, in this case a Canon 580exII. In hindsight, I could've brought 2 more and used my tripod and a clamp. But as all my electronics were carry on, I didn't want to risk being overweight and having to put it in the hold. So that gave me one light. Not enough really. Fortunately Matt, one of the other photographers there had a reflector, so we could fill in the far side of the face.
Below we have the group shot version. You can see Matt holding the reflector, with Paul holding the stand and umbrella. Looking on is Richard and Mark. The speedlight has been modified with a shoot through umbrella. The flash itself was at 1/4 power, and was triggered with a set of Elinchrom Skyports. You can see the picnic bench on the right, with my bag and bits.
