Winter Lights at The Cladagh
The Galway Hookers are beautifully decorated this year. In fact, I think this is my favourite set of lights throughout the city. At 6pm the lights in the Cladagh Basin come on. It’s like popcorn. At first it’s one or two, but very quickly they all come one. Each light is to remember souls lost to the water. Even in the last few days, someone else drowned.
Brief technical info: These photos were shot on a tripod allowing for longer shutter speeds and stopped down apertures. The slow shutter allows for smooth water, while the aperture allows the starburst effect on the lights.
